Hello guys welcome to my first camp blog! Sorry it's taken so long but I live in a little wooden hut in the middle of a forest with no internet and I work from 0730 till 2200 everyday.
Right then I’ve got 3 weeks worth to do, where to begin? How about the start.
Um ok, got up at 4am (I didn't sleep though) ready to leave on the 21st, Matthew was late picking me up because he'd fallen asleep and I had to phone him and wake him up! Drive to Heathrow was pretty good, nice and easy.
Originally the plan for my flight was to flight to charlotte North Carolina and then from there to Boston, but when I checked in I found out the airline had changed my flight so now I had to fly to Philly then New York and then Boston!
First flight was ok, took about 7 hours, nice enough plane, wings in all the right places etc.... second plane wasn't much bigger then an airfix model, only about 15 people on it and it was full! That flight only took 30 mins but we where delayed for an hour on the runway due to weather. This meant that when I landed at New York I only had 10 mins to get to my next flight! Made it in time but this flight was also delayed on the runway for 1.5 hours. it was a bit of a tease having to sit there looking out the window at Manhattan and not being able to go there, but it was worth it when we took off and I got a great birds eye view of the city. This flight was 35 mins and was one flight too many and I was sick.
The airline I flew on was American airlines, it was pretty good in general, my only complained was the crew where middle-aged, no nice dolly birds or comedy gays onboard :( .
Got into Boston airport at about 1900(US time) and met up with the others and the people from the camp. We then had to wait around for ages for other people on different flights from different companies and then ended leaving the airport at 2200. The drive to the camp took another 2 hours and by this time I had been awake for 36 hours and my brain had shut down.
When we got to camp we where shown which cabin we would stay in. It was a bit of a tip but I really didn't care, it had a bed in it for me so I was happy. Where also given a box with food in to eat, it had bread rolls, cheese meat and crisps in it; they must have known I was coming!
Got up the next day and started a weeks worth of training, everyone at the camp is really nice, as well as staff from the UK we have one from oz and 2 Spanish here, there are also American staff here who are from Boston, they are all black and are awesome, they all have catchphrases and stuff like "I know that’s right" and call each other and us the N word, it's like being in a TV show!
That’s enough for now, will finish the rest tomorrow
